LaRina Pastificio & Vino, Brooklyn, New York
We had the pleasure to connect with Chef Silvia Barban on IG Live and hear how she is adjusting to takeout and delivery, and highlighting the Pasta Shop and market housed within her restaurant in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn. Thank you, Silvia, for sharing your ideas with us!
Here are a few of Silvia’s tips:
- Consider adding delivery on more than one platform.
Before COVID-19, LaRina used one outside delivery platform, and they have added two more since going to takeout service only.
- Offer market items for sale (fresh pasta, sauces and pantry staples) while you are in the restaurant for prep.
Silvia is in the restaurant everyday at 9:30 am, so even though she is not fully open, she is happy to help a customer purchase items from the pasta shop and market.
- Check in with industry friends across the country and the world to share ideas and offer support.
Take comfort in connecting with your peers during this trying time.
- Find inspiration in the ability to provide comfort to others through your food.
Use cooking to channel your energy, and set customers up to do the same with cooking kits and fresh prepared items.
