
Ingredients
- 1 jar Piccolo® Datterini Baby Plum Tomatoes
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 - 13 oz dough ball or pizza flatbread
- 3 oz fresh mozzarella
- ½ tsp TRULY® Extra Virgin Olive Oil + more for finishing
- 1 cup of fresh basil, torn
Method
Heat a conventional oven to 500-550°F. When the oven is warm, stretch your dough ball to a 12”-13” round or use your favorite pizza flatbread.
Using your hands, lightly crush Piccolo® Datterini Baby Plum Tomatoes, including the juice in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Thinly spread crushed tomatoes evenly across your dough. Top with thinly sliced fresh mozzarella cheese and a drizzle of TRULY® Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Then bake.
When the crust is golden brown, remove from the oven and finish with fresh basil and another drizzle of TRULY® Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
This sauce works great when cooking with pizza ovens as well. If using a pizza oven, follow the baking instructions for your oven.
